EUGENE — Oregon basketball will be without forward Shakur Juiston for Saturday’s game at No. 5 Michigan and probably longer.

Juiston, a 6-foot-7 graduate transfer, suffered a lower leg injury against North Carolina during last month’s Battle 4 Atlantis and missed the Ducks’ win over Hawaii Saturday.

Oregon coach Dana Altman said Juiston will not be available for the No. 10 Ducks (7-2) against the Wolverines (8-2) and there is not a definitive timetable for his return.

“He will not be ready to play (at Michigan),” Altman said. “Just whenever he’s ready, but he won’t be ready for a while.”

Juiston is averaging 8.8 points, a team-high 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists through the first eight games.

Freshman C.J. Walker (5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds) started in place of Juiston, who joined Oregon from UNLV this summer, and scored a season-high 18 points against Hawaii.

“(With Juiston) being out, everybody has to pick it up a little bit,” forward Francis Okoro said, “grab more rebounds and play more physical now.”

Oregon concludes nonconference play against Montana (Dec. 18), Texas Southern (Dec. 21) and Alabama State (Dec. 29) before opening Pac-12 play at Colorado Jan. 2.
