Prediction: Will Justin Flowe, nation’s No. 1 linebacker, choose Oregon Ducks?

The Oregon Ducks landed their highest-rated linebacker recruit in program history in late November with the addition of five-star prospect Noah Sewell.

But will he hold that place much longer?

Consensus five-star linebacker Justin Flowe, the nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 6 prospect overall, is set to announce his decision Wednesday and officially has a top four of Clemson, Georgia, Miami (Fla.) and Oregon, but also took an official visit to USC this weekend.

So, where will he choose?

Nemec’s Prediction: Oregon Ducks

Oregon has been trending in the right direction ever since the 6-foot-2, 225-pound 'backer’s official visit to Eugene in late November, and for good reason.

According to sources familiar with Flowe’s recruitment, the Ducks have emerged as the favorite leading up to his decision.

Adding to that buzz, Clemson appeared to pivot away from the talented California linebacker Saturday, offering (and immediately landing the commitment of) five-star linebacker Trenton Simpson.

When the buzz matches the movements fellow finalists, it’s usually a good sign the buzz is correct.

And I’m not the only one who seems to see it that way.

Oregon has picked up the past three 247Sports crystal ball predictions, including that of national director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

Flowe, the No. 40 prospect all-time on 247Sports, would be the second highest-rated recruit of in program history for Oregon, behind only true freshman defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux.

If, in fact, Flowe chooses Oregon on Wednesday, the Ducks would have their four highest-rated linebackers in program history either currently enrolled or committed to the program, as he would eclipse 2020 pledge Noah Sewell, true freshman Mase Funa and class of 2021 recruit Keith Brown.
