EUGENE — Kayvon Thibodeaux earned his first preseason honor.
The Oregon sophomore defensive end is among the 42 players on the Lott IMPACT trophy watch list, including eight from the Pac-12.
The Lott IMPACT trophy is presented annually to college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.
Thibodeaux had 35 tackles with 14 for loss including nine sacks as a true freshman last season.
The winner will be recognized at the 17th annual Lott Trophy dinner. Auburn’s Derrick Brown won the award last year.
