EUGENE — Oregon will open the 2020 season ranked in the top 10 of the coaches poll.

The Ducks are No. 9 in the preseason poll released Thursday with 1,164 points, highest among Pac-12 teams.

Starting the season ranked for the 12th time in 13 seasons, Oregon went 12-2 last season and finished No. 5 after winning the Rose Bowl and Pac-12 Championship.

The Ducks are scheduled to play two other ranked teams, with No. 17 USC and No. 20 Utah as the other ranked teams from the Pac-12. Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Cal and Stanford also received votes in the poll.
