After a freshman season that earned praise for its star, “Saturday Night Live” veteran Aidy Bryant, the Portland-set comedy “Shrill” is returning to the Rose City to film Season 2 this summer. Once again, extras are needed to appear in scenes of the show, which is inspired by the memoir and essay collection written by Seattle-based author Lindy West.
According to background casting director Adam Rosko’s press release, “everyone may apply.” The show is "looking for people of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and abilities to create a truthful and realistic Portland setting for a woman who wants to change her life, not her body."
Extras, stand-ins and possibly vehicles are all being sought. Extras and stand-ins will be paid $12.50 an hour, according to Rosko.
Those interested should fill out the application form (https://tinyurl.com/shrillseason2) if they’re over 18. For applicants who are younger than 18, parents should use a different form (https://tinyurl.com/shrillseason2kids)
Filming on “Shrill” Season 2 begins in July.
