Mortified Portland

Turkey Trot at the Zoo

Celebrate the bird of the season and prepare yourself to gorge by burning some calories in advance of Thanksgiving dinner. Portland's big four-mile Turkey Trot travels near the International Rose Test Garden and ends up inside the zoo.

Tofurky Trot

You don't have to be a carnivore to get in on the meal-specific fun run action on Thanksgiving. Vegetarians and vegans get their own plant-based 5K version of the Turkey Trot to support organizations like Northwest VEG and Green Acres Farm Sanctuary.

ZooLights

Forget the animals and head to the ZooLights for a million and a half twinkling lights arranged into all sorts of wild displays. And for an even more merry and bright tour through the lighted loop, pair illuminated animals with a beer or two at BrewLights (Nov. 27-28).
