Just in the time for the weekend, skies are clearing, and temperatures are climbing. Aside from some clouds on the coast, most of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington should see a clear sunrise on Friday and plenty of sun for the entire weekend. Friday’s high is forecast for 79 at the airport, but some locations could see warming temps into the low 80s.

Those heading to the coast will see temps in the upper 60s and plenty of wind as building surface high pressure will bring a steady northwest-to-west breeze, according to the National Weather Service. Some locations in the southern Willamette Valley will also have windy conditions on Friday.

High pressure will continue to build in through the weekend. Saturday will be sunny with a high of 85. Areas in the Cascades and the foothills will experience high overnight low temps in the 60s, which will limit overnight cooling.
