The already abundant, 80-acre Oregon Garden in Silverton was adorned in additional exuberant displays of flowers, foliage and other vibrant botanicals on Wednesday, Sept. 11, courtesy of Portland's Floral Design Institute.
More than $20,000 in stems and blooms, most grown locally, were donated to the flower school's workshops held Sept. 8-11 at the Oregon Garden, says education director Leanne Kesler.
Instructors taught seasoned and new florists ways to create botanical couture fashion and furniture-size centerpieces.
Floral installations will be on display this week at the garden. Other fresh-cut flowers will be donated to The Bloom Project, where bouquets are delivered to hospice and palliative care patients.
