Tuck away the idea of a quaint beach cottage. Plenty of Oregon's oceanfront abodes for sale are as high-end as they are high priced. One Gold Beach waterfront log home spans 10,000 square feet and is listed at just under $10 million.

Think that's extreme? Visit Cannon Beach, the site of Haystack Rock, Sandcastle contests and corgi runs. "It's the most expensive place on the Oregon coast," says Robin Risley of Cascade Sotheby's International Realty, who has been selling Oregon oceanfront properties since 1989.

Who's buying? All age groups, adds Risley.

Cannon Beach and nearby Arch Cape account for five of the top 10 most expensive Oregon coastal properties (#11, #15, #18, #20 and #23 are also in Cannon Beach), according to Zillow.
