Police investigating fatal shootings in Salem

A shooting in Northeast Salem has left one dead, the Salem Police Department said.

Officers responded to a home at 3:19 p.m. on the 400 block of Northeast 22nd Street, according to a news release. When officers arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound.

The person was taken to Salem Hospital where they were pronounced dead, police said.

Salem police are also investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at Englewood Park early Sunday morning.

The person later died at a local hospital, according to another news release. Salem police said no other information on this shooting is available.

Both investigations are ongoing.
