Weekend weather will be mild in Portland compared to next week’s heat wave

Portlanders can expect temperatures in the high 70s this weekend. Then the mercury will start to rise, the National Weather Service says.

Forecasters expect highs of 79 degrees Saturday and 77 degrees Sunday with mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures could climb up to 84 degrees Monday, 92 degrees Tuesday and 93 degrees Wednesday. They will remain in the 90s until at least Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for temperatures to cool down Friday -- at least in a relative sense -- to 86 degrees.
