An Oregon woman was charged Tuesday with the murder of an 85-year-old Portland man who was found dead in a North Portland home in May 2018.

Amanda Marin, 38, was charged with burglary, robbery and two counts of second-degree murder in the death of Eugene Gora, 85.

The charges are the culmination of an investigation that began May 10, 2018, when Portland police investigated a report of a dead man in the 4200 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

According to court documents, Marin was a former neighbor that previously lived on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Marin was arrested for in Oregon City on Jan. 14 by the Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Detail.

Further details surrounding Gora’s death are unavailable at this time due to an ongoing criminal investigation.

According to Brent Weisberg, a spokesman for the Multnomah County district attorney, a court date is expected within the next two weeks.

Weisberg also said that another person participated in the same crimes and was involved in Gora’s death, but details are not yet available.

“We believe there are individuals in the community that have information that can be critical to the investigation, and we ask that those individuals come forward,” Weisberg said.

Anyone with information about this investigation should contact PPB Homicide Detective Brad Clifton at 503-823-0696 or PPB Homicide Detective Todd Gradwahl at 503-823-0991.
