Aumsville man accused of abusing girlfriend's 6-month-old son

Robert Pinsky

An Aumsville man is accused of beating his girlfriend's infant son earlier this month.

Robert A. Pinsky, 30, faces a first-degree assault charge and is booked into the Marion County Jail. He was arrested April 23 after Marion County Sheriff's deputies investigated his claim that the six-month-old boy injured himself after falling off a couch at home.

Roy Fast Jr. is in serious condition at OHSU Hospital Tuesday after Pinsky brought him unconscious to Santiam Hospital on April 5, deputies said. The boy sustained head trauma and bone fractures and was later transferred to OHSU.

The boy's mother, Shaanon Crouch, 27, was at school when the incident occurred, deputies said. Pinsky lives with the boy and his mother at a home in the 600 block of Ninth Street.

He is scheduled for a plea hearing in Marion County Circuit Court on May 28.
