Video shows moments before apparently random stabbing in NE Portland

Newly released surveillance footage shows the moments leading up to an apparently random stabbing in Northeast Portland last month.

Portland police on Monday released home surveillance footage of the attack victim walking through the Roseway neighborhood. The footage shows someone trailing her and eventually running away.

It doesn’t show the attack.

The victim, a woman, was walking home from a friend’s house late March 10 when she was stabbed several times in the 3200 block of Northeast 78th Avenue, police said. She suffered life-threatening wounds but survived.

The woman told police she didn’t know her attacker, police said. No suspect description has been released by police.

Police haven’t released any suspect information. They encourage anyone who has information to contact Detective Jeff Sharp at 503-823-9773 or jeff.sharp@portlandoregon.gov.
