A man was shot overnight in Northeast Portland, becoming the latest to be wounded by gunfire in the city.

The man was shot in the foot early Thursday on Northeast Rosa Parks Way just east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to Portland police. He was taken to a hospital, and his medical condition wasn’t immediately available.

No arrests have been announced.

The incident comes in the wake of multiple other shootings this week.

There were two non-injury shootings in North Portland early Wednesday. A man was shot in the stomach in Southeast Portland the same morning. Three people reportedly fired gunshots at two others Tuesday night elsewhere in Southeast Portland. A man also shot a woman who was involved in a burglary at his Northeast Portland home early Monday, according to police.

The shootings occurred in the wake of one of the most violent months in Portland in 30 years. There were 99 shootings, 38 people wounded and 15 people killed in the city in July.

Police ask anyone who has information about Thursday’s shooting and hasn’t yet been contacted by investigators to call 503-823-3333.
