Woman dies in NE Portland after being hit by 2 drivers who drove away

UPDATE: Police identified the pedestrian who died as Victoria Lynn Pettibone, a 66-year-old Portland woman.

A pedestrian died Wednesday after being hit by two cars in Northeast Portland, police say. The drivers of both vehicles drove away before officers arrived.

The woman was reported hit around 5:20 p.m. near Northeast 162nd Avenue and Halsey Street and pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers believed to be involved haven't yet been found, police said.

Vehicle descriptions and the woman's identity have not yet been released by police. An investigation is ongoing. Northeast 162nd Avenue is closed temporarily between Northeast Multnomah Street and Halsey Street.

Portland police ask anyone with information about the crash to contact them via their non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
