5-star guard Nimari Burnett cut his list to a top 12

The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball program is still working to put the finishing touches on next season’s roster, but is also laying the groundwork for the class of 2020.

That work is currently focused on five-star center N’Faly Dante and top-100 prospect Addison Patterson, a pair of 2020 prospects who are both considering a reclassification into the 2019 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, the Ducks took a step forward with yet another 2020 prospect, as Rivals five-star shooting guard Nimari Burnett trimmed his list to a top 12.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound guard, out of Prolific Prep (Napa, California), included Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Auburn, Illinois, Louisville, Marquette, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Wake Forest:

Burnett is rated the nation’s No. 7 shooting guard by Rivals and the No. 5 combo guard by 247Sports.

Here’s what 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Snow had to say about the California product:

.".“A big-bodied guard who excels both on and off the ball,” he wrote. “When he plays on the ball, he uses his frame with great length to overpower defenders and get to into the lane. Once there, Burnett shows solid floor vision and is good at finding shooters. When he plays off the ball, Burnett makes himself into a scorer who can get buckets by both attacking the basket and from deep. While he is a better athlete than most expect at first blush, he does need to continue to get into better shape - which should help all aspects of his game."
