When 247Sports four-star cornerback Jaylin Davies released a top seven in mid-March the Oregon Ducks weren’t on it.
On May 16, however, Davies amended his list while also trimming it to four, and suddenly Oregon was among his top contenders along with Arizona State, Ohio State and USC.
It’s that surge that has Duck fans wondering if Oregon has become the favorite for the nation’s No. 12 cornerback, who is also an Under Armour All-American Game selection.
Turns out, they won’t have to wait much longer for an answer.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pound cornerback, out of Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California), announced Wednesday that he will be making a commitment June 19:
Commitment Day June 19th‼️🙏🏾#Juneteenth✌🏾#fighton 🦆#Sco ⭕️#gobucks 🔱#Forksup ...Please no interviews.

So, where is Davies headed for college?
Prediction: Davies to Oregon
While Davies has declined interview requests, the writing is on the wall here.
Oregon has a strong relationship with Mater Dei High School, highlighted by a trio of signees in the class of 2019 - linebacker Mase Funa, running back Sean Dollars and defensive lineman Keyon Ware-Hudson - and the verbal commitment of Davies’ teammate and fellow Under Armour All-American selection Kyron Ware-Hudson, one of the nation’s most physical wide receivers.
Pair that fact with the Ducks’ surge in Davies’ recruitment over the past two-plus months and the recipe is there for an Oregon commitment.
Expect Davies to become a Duck.
