Aumsville Corn Festival Fun Run preview

I like to get my family involved in my running as much as I can. One event that really caters to a whole family affair is the

. My family ran this  last year and really had a wonderful time. And with a family rate maximum of $50, this is a bargain. We brought 8 last year, so we averaged out to a little over $6 per person!

The day consists of 3 separate races: a 5k, 3k, and 1-miler. The 5k course is Cascade High School's Cross Country course and takes place entirely on their expansive, country campus. Last year, the 5k started near the baseball field and headed north of campus and circled around the dirt and grass trail. We entered a small tree grove before finishing back at the start. I was impressed with the organization of such a small town race.

If you are looking for a fun race to round out August with, this is the event for you. And make sure to stick around after the event for the Aumsville Corn Festival, held inside Aumsville city limits. Free corn for all!

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Cascade High School girl's basketball team.
