Portland metro Saturday weather: Expect sunny skies in the afternoon and a high near 80

A cloudy early morning in Portland is expected to quickly become warm and sunny for most of the day with a high near 80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be around 70 degrees when Pride Northwest kicks off this weekend’s Pride festivities at noon for the Pride Waterfront Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

A 5- to 9-mph wind is expected today from the north, according to the service, picking up later in the day and into the evening.

The heat is here to stay throughout the weekend and into next week with temperatures consistently rising into the high 70s and low 80s. According to the service, the high Monday is 81 degrees and the high Tuesday is 77 degrees.
