On the third day of summer in Portland, don’t expect to turn on the air conditioner.

The National Weather Service is predicting a cloudy morning Sunday, with a 20% chance of showers before 11 a.m. Then the clouds should dissipate for a mostly sunny afternoon with a high of 68 degrees.

Wind will be west northwest from 6 to 9 mph.

Sunday night, some clouds will return and a northwest wind will stay roughly the same -- 5 to 10 mph. The low is expected to hit 52 degrees.

Monday, things will be a little sunnier and a little warmer, with a high of 72 degrees.

But, checking further ahead into the week, Monday might be the sunniest day Portland gets. Tuesday has a 30% chance of showers and Wednesday has a 50% chance. So, things are looking good for the lawn but not so good for your plans to wear flip flops all summer.
