Sunday will live up to its name, forecasters said, with widespread sunshine and typical summer temps for the Portland metro area.

High temperatures were expected to top out around or just above 80 degrees in Portland, according to the National Weather Service, with just a few spotty clouds along the coast early in the day.

Clouds will likely increase Sunday evening, as a compact weather system will bring a chance of rain for the coast and areas north of Portland.

By Tuesday night, an area of low pressure is expected to move over the region, which will bring a better chance of precipitation into Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal norms, with highs around 75 degrees predicted for most of the week.
