A few showers are possible Friday afternoon as a cold front moves across northwest Oregon.

Skies will be cloudy for the bulk of the day, and the high should reach about 70 degrees. Showers are more likely toward evening as the front slowly pushes inland.

Temperatures will be about 10 to 15 degrees below normal this weekend as cold air floods in behind the front. Saturday will struggle to reach 63 degrees if clouds are persistent. Rain will be steady early in the day, then turn to showers by afternoon.

If a few sun breaks appear, Portland and the Willamette Valley could see thunderstorms, potentially with small hail.

The National Weather Service says the "cold core” of the system will move onshore Saturday night into early Sunday. Snow levels will dive down to pass elevations of about 4,000 feet. Pass roads could see some occasional slushy accumulations of up to an inch. Higher locations, such as ski resorts, could see a few new inches of accumulating snow.

Monday looks cloudy with possible showers.
