WALLS of 'forgotten rooms' at the Grade II listed University College on High Street will be knocked down to make space for a bigger gym, if plans are given the go-ahead by Oxford City Council.
As it is, the underground floor is made up of seven rooms. These were used as a kitchen when it was first built in 1979, before it converted into a library in the 1960s.
Now, three of the rooms are used as a gym open to students only.
If plans go ahead, the others will be knocked through to create more gym space.
