A CONSTRUCTION company that has operated in Oxford for more than 60 years has been put into administration.
Basil Wyatt & Sons, based in Harpes Road, Summertown, has folded, putting the future of a number of building projects in doubt.
According to the London Gazette, the firm Wilkins Kennedy were appointed as administrators for Basil Wyatt on February 6 in the High Court of Justice.
It is understood that projects the firm were working on have been put on hold with workers saying they have been laid off.

Calls to the company were going directly to answer machine yesterday and repeated requests for comment by the Oxford Mail have gone unanswered.
The long-standing company has worked for schools, churches and care homes across Oxford.
It most recently worked on refurbishment works at d’Overbroeck’s College in north Oxford including creating new laboratories and kitchen facilities.
It also extended King House in Rye St Antony School in Headington, providing new cloakroom areas and classroom refurbishment works.
In June 2018 the company won the contract to demolish a building in Bartlemas Road, east Oxford and build two one bed and one two bed flats.
A site office was removed from this location last month and no progress has been seen on site for a month.
