A PROMINENT environmentalist will give a speech to the Oxford group behind a protest which held up motorists on Botley Road in November.

Author and campaigner George Monbiot, who attended the recent 'student strike' against climate change, will appear at a public meeting organised by Extinction Rebellion.

'Heading for extinction and what to do about it', will share 'the latest science', discuss 'psychology around climate breakdown' and 'offer solutions.'

Some Oxford residents have had leaflets through their front door about the event, at which climate scientist Rachael Treharne will also speak.
