SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Springfield man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison without parole for producing and distributing child pornography.

Genard Alonzo Toney, 37, of Springfield, Mo. plead guilty to one count of using a minor to produce child pornography and to one count of receiving and distributing child pornography in May, a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Missouri said.

Toney would pretend to be a female on dating websites seeking courtship with other women. He would ask the women he met if they had any children, and ask for sexually explicit pictures of them, the press release said.

Devices Toney owned had 283 separate conversations on the dating site, and had multiple images of child pornography from some of those conversations.

Toney was on state probation at the time of the offense for three counts of distributing a controlled substance, the press release said.
