Menu

The menu is giant — soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees including beef, pork, chicken and seafood. You can find just about anything you want here.

Atmosphere

You can eat inside the bar, outside on the patio, or in the main dining room. The main dining room is decorated nicely, with lots of wood and glass panels dividing the sections of booths. This definitely keeps the noise down in a large room.

Our favorite food/price

We stopped by for lunch on a recent Saturday, just a little before noon. There was a placard on the table advertising several lunch specials for $10, including drink. My wife decided to order from that menu, getting the Thai chicken salad. I ordered the gastropub burger, which came with caramelized onions, Gruyere cheese, lettuce and tomatoes for $12.95. I added applewood bacon for another dollar. It came with a choice of sides, so I chose sweet potato fries. I thought $13.95 seemed high for a burger and fries, but then the half-pound behemoth arrived. It was enormous, on a brioche roll, and cooked perfectly medium-rare as ordered. The toppings made it special, but the char-broiled taste of the meat was even better. Quite possibly the best burger I have ever eaten. It would have been easy to take half of it home.

Reason to go

The portions are good sized, prices are fair but upscale if you go there for lunch, with a nicer-than-average atmosphere.

Service

The young man who served us was attentive, filling our drinks when needed. The wait for our meal seemed about average for a restaurant this large.

Noise level

The dining room is large and was only half-full when we were there for lunch, so it was fairly quiet.

Kid friendly

There is a kids menu, available if you ask. There are eight choices that range from $4.95 to $7.25, with the regular burgers, mac and cheese, and pizza, but there’s even a kids portion of grilled salmon.
