Quincy man identified as victim in fatal Boston shooting

BOSTON— Police have identified a Quincy man as the victim in a fatal Boston shooting.

Police said Lovenson Pierre, 26, of Quincy, was shot dead in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston on Thursday.

Police said they found Pierre suffering from a gunshot wound near 4 Hazelton St. at 9:09 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting is still under investigation and police ask anyone with information to call Boston police homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.

This is the second Quincy man to be killed by gun violence in Boston in a month. Dwight Stamp was killed in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury on July 12.
