An East Shore brewer is hopping into Harrisburg.
By spring 2021, Boneshire Brew Works in Swatara Township will permanently open a taproom at Sip@SoMa at 13 S. Third St.
“Having a dynamic local craft brewer like Boneshire take over the space is exactly what we’re looking for in the neighborhood,” said Brad Jones, Harristown president and CEO.
In 2019, Harristown opened Sip@SoMa tasting room with monthly events hosted by breweries, wineries and distilleries. Harristown said in 20 years it has invested $25 million in the SOMA neighborhood, preserving and renovating historic properties. (SoMA stands for South Third Street, south of Market Street.)
The city address will give Boneshire another location to offer its beers on tap. The intimate tasting room has 25 seats and a 12-tap system.
Owner Alan Miller opened Boneshire in 2016 in a small strip shopping center along Derry Street where he brews beer and operates a 40-seat tasting room.
“We love the feel and vibe of the SOMA area in Harrisburg and we have been involved in the SOMA block party events since day one and are excited to have a permanent presence in the neighborhood,” Miller said.
