Supper Club opens in historic Cameron Mansion in Harrisburg: Cool Spaces

A historic Harrisburg mansion is opening as an event venue.

On Sept. 21, the J. Donald Cameron Mansion at 407 N. Front St. launched the  Cameron Mansion Supper Club with a "grande opening."

For decades, the public has had limited access to the mansion, which is the former home of Donald Cameron, U.S. Senator and Secretary of War under President Ulysses S. Grant.

The mansion is decorated with antiques and collectibles.

A series of themed five-course catered dinners, social brunches, and children's events will be available by reservation.

The venue will be operated by the Addiction Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable addiction recovery solutions through education and financial assistance for in-patient treatment and sober living residences.

Dr. Melissa Vayda started the Addiction Foundation in 2013 after the death of a loved one who struggled with a lifelong addiction to alcohol and opioids.

The group said it views the Supper Club as "another step in the journey to continue building the resources for the foundation and to help individuals find sustainable recovery solutions."

Upcoming events include:

10/19: Dinner with Dizzy: Celebrating the life and works of Dizzy Gillespie;

10/31: Calling All Princesses: A dress-up 'Miss Manners' event for girls ages 3-7;

11/9: King Tut in Ancient Egypt Dinner: Marking the discovery of the Tut tomb;

11/11: American Heroes Brunch: Saluting our veterans.
