6 of the best new homes built in the Harrisburg region from 2019 Parade of Homes: Cool Spaces

Single-family - $650,000 and up – Winner: Landmark Homes

Built by Landmark Homes, the Silverbrooke model home in the Willow Creek Farms neighborhood is at 124 Willow Creek Lane in South Hanover Township, and priced at $823,900.

This 3,840-square-foot home abounds in designer details with Craftsman-style exterior complete with fiber cement siding, stone veneer and welcoming front porch.

A three-car garage leads to the mudroom with built-in lockers. To the front of the home is the living room and dining room with coffered ceiling detail and Craftsman-style wainscoting with chair rail. A convenient butler’s pantry lays between the dining room and the open kitchen with Cambria countertops, tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances.

The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg is hosting the 24th annual Parade of Homes, featuring 29 new homes and 11 builders in the Harrisburg region.

  • The homes in this year’s parade represent a variety of sizes, styles and price points. The public can visit homes from the low $200,000s to $1 million plus. Homes are spread out across the area including Mechanicsburg, Enola, Goldsboro, Marysville, Camp Hill, Boiling Springs and Hummelstown.
  • The free event runs Sept. 28-Oct. 6.
  • Homes will be open 12 p.m.-7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Representatives will be on site to answer questions and guide guests through the staged homes.
  • Guests are encouraged to download the free PA Parade of Homes app available on both Apple and Android devices which includes a full listing of the homes, pictures and an interactive map with GPS compatible directions.
  • Once again, a Chefs on Parade fundraiser, sponsored by UGI, will be held 5-10 p.m. Sept. 26.
  • Four homes, along with four of Central Pennsylvania’s top chefs, will provide guests with an evening of food and drink paired with beautiful home design and décor. This year’s Chefs on Parade event includes Biltbold, Inc. paired with Harvest Seasonal Grill, Ryan Homes paired with Evolution Catering, Berks Homes paired with Alfred’s Victorian, and Roland Builder paired with Bricco of Harrisburg.
  • Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple. All proceeds from this event will benefit the HBA’s Scholarship Fund, which assists young people entering a skilled trades program.

The following are five of the six winning homes (the sixth is at the top of the story) at five different price points, from multi-family to single-family homes:

Multi-family - $200,000 to $299,000 – Winner: Landmark Homes

Built by Landmark Homes, the Delany model townhome in the Hanbury Court neighborhood is at 1724 Fairbank Lane in Upper Allen Township, and priced at $233,900.

This 1,679-square-foot two-story townhome includes a one-car garage and open floor plan. A half-bath is located off of the foyer. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and features granite countertops with tile backsplash. Hardwood flooring in the foyer extends to the powder room, kitchen and dining area. Sliding glass doors in the family room provide access to the patio.

The second floor includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a convenient laundry room. The owner’s suite includes a large closet and a private bathroom.

Multi-family - $300,000 to $550,000 – Winner: Traditions of America

Built by Traditions of America, the Adams model home is located at 332 Valor Drive in Silver Spring Township, and priced at $534,900. Traditions of America at Silver Spring is a 55+ resort-lifestyle community.

Based on their garden home plan, the 2,564-square-foot property features a gourmet kitchen, which includes a large, angled island and painted cabinetry with glass inserts and matching range hood. The kitchen affords views to the dining room, great room and “super sunroom.”

A gas fireplace surrounded by built-in bookshelves warms the great room, while a vaulted ceiling leads the eye to an open loft above. Out-of-town guests will feel right at home in the second level featuring a large bedroom with full bath and expanded loft.

Single-family - $300,000 to $399,000 – Winner: Ryan Homes

Built by Ryan Homes, the Columbia model home is located in the Stray Winds Farm neighborhood at 3998 Secretariat St. in Lower Paxton Township, and priced at $399,990.

This 3,192-square-foot home features an open and airy floor plan. Entertaining is easy in the spacious kitchen complete with a 10-foot island and separate dining area. Access to the optional covered deck is available from the dining area.

Built by Garman Builders, the Nottingham model home is located in the Parkview at Boiling Springs neighborhood at 217 Iron Works Way in South Middletown Township and priced at $410,990.

This 2,652-square-foot home has four bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. The open floor plan includes the kitchen, breakfast area, family room with stone surround natural gas fireplace, study, dining room with columns and wainscoting, drop zone with bench and pegs and powder room.

The kitchen features an island, granite countertops, tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances.

On the second floor, the master suite has a large walk-in closet, tray ceiling, and luxury owners’ bathroom, soaking tub, glass and tile shower. There are three additional bedrooms, a full bathroom and laundry room on the second floor.

Single-family - $500,000 to $599,000 – Winner: Roland Builder

Built by Roland Builder, The Paige model home is located in the Orchard Glen neighborhood at 924 Tolman St. in Upper Allen Township and priced at $514,000.

The 2,077-square-foot introduces Roland Builder’s newest one-story Garden Home plan.

The exterior of the home has Craftsman-style design elements that are carried through to the interior. The home features a generous master suite with a zero-threshold custom tile shower with pebble flooring and accents. A double bowl vanity with quartz countertop and a walk-in closet complete the space.
