‘Very deep’ sinkhole detours traffic in Lancaster County town

A “very deep” sinkhole has opened in Lancaster County, and, now, police are urging members of the public to avoid the area.

The sinkhole opened near the southeast corner of North Third and Linden streets in Columbia, according to local police. That’s close to the Turkey Hill Experience.

“Please avoid the area and intersection,” police said.

Officers are out redirecting traffic away from the sinkhole to Second and Fourth streets, police said.
