Harrisburg police seek witnesses of fatal pedestrian crash

Pedestrian struck.

Harrisburg police have released the identity of the 65-year-old woman who was killed when she was struck by a vehicle Friday evening at N. 7th and Dauphin streets.

Police in Harrisburg are looking for witnesses who they say may have seen a fatal pedestrian crash last week.

Officers responded at 7:13 p.m. on Feb. 8 to an accident on North 7th Street at Dauphin Street where Phyllice Taylor had been struck by a vehicle.

Taylor, 65, died as a result of her injuries. Police said she is from the Harrisburg area, but is not a city resident.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene, police say. The police traffic safety unit responded to the scene and is investigating.

Police said Thursday that security footage from a nearby business determined there were other witnesses at the scene when the crash happened.

Anyone who may have been at the scene at the time of the crash is asked to contact Officer Sunday at the Harrisburg Police Department at 717-255-7311. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Watch.
