1 person killed in early morning Harrisburg shooting: police

One person was killed in an early-morning shooting in Harrisburg, according to police.

Officers were dispatched at around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday to the first block of South 17th Street for a report of a shooting. Responding officers found a person who had been shot. The person was later pronounced dead as a result of their injuries, police said.

The identity of the person has not yet been released. Harrisburg spokesman Kyle Gautsch declined to provide additional comment citing the active investigation.
