A person who was injured in one of two Saturday shootings in Harrisburg’s Allison Hill neighborhood is in stable condition, but city police still have not identified a suspected shooter or shooters.

That’s according to Harrisburg police Sgt. Kyle Gautsch, who confirmed Sunday afternoon that no arrests had been made in the shootings. The person who was injured was “not the most forthcoming” with details about what happened, he said.

In the first shooting, which took place Saturday afternoon, one person was injured and transported to UPMC Harrisburg, where they are listed in stable condition and expected to recover, Gautsch said.

That incident took place not far from another shooting later Saturday evening near the intersection of 19th and Park streets. There, no injuries were reported, Gautsch said.

“As of now we have nothing that indicates the incidents are related, but yet the investigations are ongoing,” he said.

Witnesses who spoke with a PennLive reporter at the scene Saturday called the incident near 19th Street a shootout.

Gautsch said police were not sure how many people were involved in the shooting, and he could not immediately reveal how many shots were fired.

Gautsch said the second “incident involved a wrecked vehicle" but did not elaborate. He said the occupants of the vehicle fled prior to officers’ arrival.

As of a little before 5 p.m. Sunday, no suspects had been identified, Gautsch said.
