A Harrisburg building that partially collapsed overnight was on the city’s radar and on the “top of the list” to be demolished, city officials said Thursday.
The building, 1502 North 5th Street, has been secured with barricades, according to David Patton, Harrisburg’s Codes Administrator.
The building’s ceiling appeared to be rotted, and the roof has some holes in it. There were no injuries reported in the collapse.
Vehicles in the area of the building have notices on them that they need to be moved, Patton said.
Patton said the property was already on a list to be demolished, and the city is continuing with the plan.
“City crews will be moving on site immediately, and are awaiting utilities to be completely shut off to commence full demolition,” Patton said.
