Four-star wide receiver Kaden Prather committed to West Virginia on Saturday, picking the Mountaineers over a group of schools that included Penn State, Michigan, Alabama and many more.

He made the announcement in a video posted to his Twitter account.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver from Northwest (Md.) is ranked as the No. 13 player in Maryland, the No. 53 wide receiver nationally and No. 290 overall prospect in the Class of 2021 in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Prather commits to a West Virginia coaching staff that features Gerad Parker as its offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. Parker spent last season as the wide receivers coach at Penn State.

Parker’s replacement, Taylor Stubblefield, has been impacted by the restrictions placed on in-person recruiting because of the coronavirus pandemic. Stubblefield joined coach James Franklin’s staff in January, and the NCAA recently extended the recruiting dead period through the end of July.

Recently, four-star wide receiver Dont’e Thornton left Penn State out of his top schools. Thornton, the No. 7 wide receiver nationally out of Mount St. Joseph (Md.), originally committed to the Lions in February 2019 before decommitting in August 2019. Thornton’s top schools are currently Arizona State, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Southern Cal and Virginia.

With 12 commits, Penn State currently has the No. 18 recruiting class nationally and the No. 7 class in the Big Ten.
