Pro Bowl voting: Philadelphia Eagles’ Zach Ertz finishes first among NFC TEs in fan vote

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is having a productive season on the field, and he was just as productive in the NFL’s Pro Bowl fan voting.

Ertz finished first among NFC tight ends in the Pro Bowl’s fan voting, which ended Thursday. Ertz pulled in 648,992 votes, which puts him line to make his second straight Pro Bowl.

Pro Bowl rosters are announced Tuesday night on NFL Network, with the votes of fans, players and coaches all going toward the selection process. The Pro Bowl is Jan. 27.

Ertz is having a career season. Entering Sunday’s primetime matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, Ertz has an Eagles single-season record 98 catches for 1,016 yards and six touchdowns. The catches and yards are career highs. Ertz’s career high in touchdowns is eight, which was set last year.

In six games this season, Ertz has at least nine catches, while’s eclipsed the 100-yard mark four times. He had the best statistical game of his career against Dallas in Week 10 when he caught 14 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

Ertz has asserted himself as one of the best at his position.

Last season, the Eagles had six players selected to the Pro Bowl. Right now, Ertz appears to be the lone lock.
