New Penguins jerseys for Philadelphia outdoor game?

And it looks to feature yellow in the logo, at least.

The Pittsburgh Penguins released a tweet yesterday that kind of flew under the radar, but it has to do with the upcoming Stadium Series game in Philadelphia.

Teams almost always wear some sort of special colors or old school throwback for the outdoor games. Occasionally, they get used again (like the yellow Steelers-themed jerseys the Pens wore at Heinz Field last year).

Other times, the specialty jerseys are ditched forever — like the silver-themed jersey the Pens wore that one time in Chicago and (thankfully) were never seen again.

We’ll have to see about Stadium Series 2k19, but being as Adidas and the team already introduced a new yellow alternate jersey for this year, they probably won’t be needing yet another new combo too much in the near-future.

And, for what it’s worth, we saw a tweet somewhere that apparently the Flyers released a similar tweet as the Pens’ one above, only their’s was heavily orange.

That sure would be an interesting asthetic to see a mostly orange team play a mostly yellow, if it does come to that. There’s also the possibility that the Penguins don an all black jersey with a yellow logo and accents, mimicking the Steelers’ “Color Rush” jerseys.

We can speculate this forever, and we’ll have to play wait and see, but fans are often very interested in tracking the duds the boys will be in, so this figures to be a story worth monitoring.
