Cambridgeshire police said last night that the road was closed by Stanground and that motorists should avoid the area.
This morning, a spokesman added: “Police were called yesterday at 8.38pm to reports of concern for a person on a bridge over the Frank Perkins Parkway, Peterborough. Emergency services attended and the road was closed as a precaution. The woman was found safe and taken to hospital.”
