Jason Bowman has jumped his way into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Earlier this month, the school announced the Gaylord High graduate will be inducted into its Hall of Fame in October.

Bowman was a champion jumper for the Briton’s men’s track and field team. He was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Most Valuable Field Performer in 2007 and was an all-conference athlete all four years he competed.

He won back-to-back MIAA high jump titles in 2004 and 2005, even helping the Britons win a share of the league championship his freshman year. He won MIAA conference titles in both the triple jump and long jump as a senior, earning a berth into the NCAA Championships meet.

Bowman excelled in the classroom as well. He was an honor roll student all four years while majoring in economics. He was academic all-district in 2006.

He currently lives in Chicago with his wife, Allison, and children, Paige, Britta and Benjamin.

Albion College is holding its Hall of Fame induction dinner Oct. 4 at Baldwin Hall. The inductees will be honored before the homecoming football game Oct. 5 against Alma College.

Former Gaylord High star Jason Bowman competes in the long jump for the Albion College track and field team.
