The nine-story building at 2800 Shore Drive is undergoing a major renovation and plans to reopen next year before peak tourist season.

Branded as Delta Hotels by Marriott Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites, the 295 luxury two-room suites will be available beginning in June, according to Marriott’s website. Amenities include beach rentals, a restaurant with beachfront dining and 13,000-square-feet of meeting space.

The 308,072-square-foot building near the intersection of Shore Drive and N. Great Neck Road was built in 1986, according to city records.

Renovations began in November 2018.
