Parts of Hampton Roads were under a severe thunderstorm warning Friday evening.
The National Weather Service’s Wakefield office issued the warning around 5:20 p.m. and had it in place until 6 p.m.
Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake were included in the warning.
Later in the night, the weather service put Virginia Beach under a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:15 p.m.
