Flight operations begin at Jaipur airport

Jaipur: Domestic flight operations started at Jaipur International Airport on Monday. The Rajasthan home department has issued guidelines for air passengers arriving in Rajasthan. Those coming from other states will have to put themselves under self-quarantine for at least 14 days. Those who violate these orders will be put under institutional quarantine. A legal action will also be taken against them, according to the home department.

The passengers who visit Rajasthan for less than seven days on business will be exempted from quarantine with certain conditions. They will need to have themselves tested for COVID-19. They will be allowed to visit public places only if they test negative for the virus. Those who arrive in Rajasthan without a COVID-19 test will have to be in quarantine for 14 days.

The central government exempted domestic air passengers from quarantine requirements, but the state government has not approved this exemption.

The Rajasthan home department guidelines make it mandatory for air passengers to abide by the guidelines issued by the union health ministry on May 24.

All the airlines have been instructed to provide the government with complete details of all the air passengers arriving in Rajasthan. Nodal officers will need to be appointed at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur airports coordinate with the respective district administration officials.
