Two robbers face jail for holding up a string of men in the street at knifepoint.

Jordan Davis, aged 23, and Nivaldo Cabanga, aged 28, mugged three people in Greenbank and Mutley within a matter of hours.

They escaped with mobile phones, wallets and other valuables, Plymouth Crown Court heard.

Davis and Cabanga faced a judge in custody to admit three joint robberies in the early hours of May 2.

They each also pleaded guilty to possession of knives in Mutley during their spree of offences.

Appearing over the videolink from Exeter Prison, they each denied a fourth robbery charge that night.

Edward Bailey, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said that plea was accepted and no trial was needed.

Recorder Jonathan Barnes remanded both men, each of no fixed address, in custody for sentencing on June 17.

Michael Green, for Cabanga, said that a psychiatric report might be needed for his client.

He added: “He has a long history of mental health difficulties.”

Davis was acquitted earlier this year of having a knife in the street on the night a teenager got stabbed.

He was cleared of having the weapon in Armada Way in December.

Co-defendant Ben Williams has admitted stabbing a 17-year-old nearby during the incident. He awaits sentencing.
