Uber Eats delivery is 'currently unavailable' for many of Plymouth's best loved eateries - after police busted a delivery driver.

In a lunchtime tweet, police warned Uber Eats customers they 'may experience a delay' with their delivery.

That's because the Devon and Cornwall Road Crime Unit (RCU) has stopped and seized  a delivery driver's vehicle because it wasn't insured.

In a tweet, the RCU  said: "Plymothians, you may experience a delay with your Uber Eats delivery today. Private delivery vehicle stopped and seized with no insurance."

At 13:15, The Uber Eats website said a number of popular food outlets in the city, including Jakes, Kick-Ass Burrito,  Chiquito, Bella Italia, Las Iguanas and Knead Pizza were all 'currently unavailable' - but rival delivery firm Deliveroo is still taking orders  for them.

Uber Eats is, however, still taking orders for McDonalds, Subway, Blazing Bird, Mac Shack and Krispy Kreme.
