Another child has become trapped inside a toilet at Plymouth's newest KFC in Marsh Mills Retail Park.

Last week, 10-year-old Zac Goss told of his ordeal after he was trapped inside a hot and stuffy KFC toilet for half an hour, and had to be cut free by firefighters.

Just a day later, a second child got stuck, and videographer Erin Black, who was reviewing the branch at the time, said she overheard staff through the collection window saying a child had been locked in the toilet.

Now Sarah Harvey has said her 11-year-old son Tyler had the same problem on Saturday, and panicked in the stuffy cubicle.

She was unimpressed that the branch had "allowed this to happen again".

Sarah said that she took a trip to the branch with her two children, and that Tyler went to the toilet alone, but after a little while he had still not returned and she became concerned.

Upon going upstairs to the restroom, Sarah found three members of staff trying to unlock the toilet door, which her son was stuck in.

She said: "Tyler managed to raise the alarm to a member of the public who was able to reassure him that she would get help."

But upon seeking assistance, the members of staff failed to free Tyler, and they were about to call the fire service.

Sarah said: "I told him to give it one last try to unlock it, so with both hands and all his might luckily he managed to unlock it!

"The staff were very good dealing with the situation, but this should not have been allowed to happen again!"

Tyler was offered an ice-cream afterwards, which his mum said he "needed to coll him down, as he got very hot in there".

She has now vowed not to return to the branch "any time soon".

The video below shows Zac recalling the moment he got trapped in the toilets, on Thursday.

The troubled new Marsh Mills branch has faced a plethora of complaints since it opened less than three weeks ago.

The two-storey takeaway has had a shaky start after being thrown in the spotlight for calling the police on a man they accused of drink-driving after he complained that it was about to run out of food.

Plympton dad Robin Rickard opened the floodgates after he complained to staff about the branch running low on food - only to be accused of drink driving because they spotted a pack of cider in the back of his private reg black BMW.

The Newton Abbot Iceland store manager vigorously denied having anything to drink and KFC has yet to issue a statement about the circumstances surrounding the incident, which unfolded shortly after 8pm on Saturday night.

Now others have come forward to dish the dirt on the fast food giant - which last year admitted to having supply issues after running out of chicken and chip stocks in Plymouth and other parts of the UK.

Charlene Toon-poynton raged on Facebook that staff clumsily knocked a full large Coca-Cola through the front of her car, ruining the interior.

Others say it's not a scratch on other KFC stores locally and some diners have vowed to never return.

Marsh Mills KFC saga - what the people say

Fed up drivers also report that queues through the drive-thru are too long.

And it appears that it's not just Marsh Mills having a problem with low food stock at the moment.

Michele Greenaway wrote: "Don’t worry it’s not just Plympton, Bristol KFC ran out of chips and substituted it with small beans!!!"

Sarah Moore fumed: "KFC should not be running out of food! They advertise it enough so should make sure they have enough!"

Some weren't overly impressed Mr Rickard mentioned he happened to own a BMW with a private registration plate and claimed to be well known in Plympton when they'd never come across him before.

Yet regardless, they reckon he's owed an apology for what happened to him.

The man queueing for food behind Mr Rickard when the drama unfolded says it should never have escalated.

Steve Jeffers claims he was offered extra food during the hold up - but that never materialised.

Now he's vowed to never go back.

He wrote: "I was in the car behind the BMW and the whole situation was ridiculous.

"The police blocked the whole road which meant that everyone behind had a lengthy wait for food as no one could move.

"We ordered at 8.15pm and didn't get our food to give (sic) 8.45pm.

"We were offered extra food as an apology which never appeared. Will not be using this KFC again lol.

"It must've been embarrassing for the guy in front of his kid, it could have been handled so much better!"

KFC have been approached for comment.
