A man was attacked and had his phone stolen in a violent robbery in Plymouth on Sunday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Blandford Road in the Efford area of the city.

Officers say that attack took place at around 8pm on Sunday, March 17, with the victim assaulted and then robbed.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "The suspect stole a bracelet, and iPhone XS and the victim’s body-warmer jacket before fleeing the area.

"The victim, a 19-year-old local man sustained cuts and bruises to his face.

"The suspect is described as a white man approximately 6ft tall, wearing a cap, blue Nike jumper and possibly jeans.

"Police are appealing for witnesses."
