Plymouth City Council is selling off a small triangle of land near a popular Plympton pub.

According to a legal notice the triangle of grass at the end of St Peters Close - amounting to no more than 0.016 hectares - is being disposed off in a freehold sale.

Currently deemed a public open space, it is bordered on one side by a footpath, another by a driveway and behind it a derelict walled car park which appears as being used in the past as a storage facility for holiday caravans.

While the land on offer has just enough room to swing a cat, or even two cats - not that we're suggesting anyone does that as it would be cruel - the parcel of land appears to be of a size which will not afford a large property or even two parking spaces at a pinch.

Nearby neighbour, the Brook Inn public house, is a short distance away, although a member of staff said they were unaware who actually owned the derelict car park which sits near the parcel of land on sale, adding that they had assumed the council owned that too.

The legal notice includes the request that any objections to the proposed disposal must be made in writing and addressed to the Head of Land and Property at Plymouth City Council, Economic Development, Ballard House, West Hoe Road, Plymouth, PL1 3BJ or emailed to landandproperty@plymouth.gov.uk by August 27 of this year.
